Aizada Imports is owned and operated by Paula Halverson Goldman.  We operate out of the Big Yellow House in Absarokee, Montana USA. We offer a selection of quality hand felted carpets and crafts that come from the country of Kyrgyzstan in Central Asia.  We buy directly from artisans in the rural villages and also work with existing workshops in the capitol city of Bishkek.  The businesses being created from felt crafts is providing employment in a country where there is a shortage of jobs for women. Our business is based in honor and respect for the traditional crafts and lifestyle of the Kyrgyz women. At the same time we are encouraging new design work and providing opportunities for growth. 

Our business in the Kyrgyz Republic

Aizada Sopueva is the manager of our business in Kyrgyzstan.  She is our buyer, translator and very good friend.  Her sister Aida Sopueva also assists with our business and at times the entire family gets involved, especially when it is time to pack and send off a big shipment.  The Sopuevas come from the village of Barskoon in the Issuk Kul region but now live in Bishkek.
